NASA would like to align itself with the Australian Shepherd Club of America, (ASCA) the original parent club of the Australian Shepherd and the largest single breed registry in the world. Also United States Australian Shepherd Association(USASA)the American Kennel Club registered parent club in saying that these, Miniature type dogs, along with the North American Shepherd, North American Miniature Australian Shepherd and/or Toy / Teacup breeds are *not recognised or registered* with AKC or ASCA because
THE AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD DOES NOT HAVE ANY VARIETIES
*SO CALLED* Miniature Australian Shepherds have been imported into The U.K
Being neither recognised or registered with the AKC, these dogs should not be registered as Australian Shepherds with The Kennel Clubs Breed Register and /or Activity / Working Register.
NASA does not support the purposeful breeding of so called Miniature, Toy & Teacup so called versions of Australian Shepherds and we expect all members with breeding programmes to breed to the Australian Shepherd recognised Breed Standards. We refer our members to the Aims of NASA set out in the rules, namely 2. a, b and c.
